Should we have prayer in public schools? in Politics
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
They are public therefore we have many different religions in our public schools. A prayer wouldn’t work because not everyone’s a Christian. Some arent even religious.
Does an individual want to pray independently, to Jesus, Muhammad, or Satan? Or a club wants to form that prays? Go for it, that's not action on the government's part. The school administration or any employee of, should never lead or require any prayer. Said employee can pray on their own however.
Everyone has a different religion, if not one at all. Therefore, from the perspective of a public school, it would seem redundant for them to integrate individual prayers for different religions, since they have separate schools designated for distinct faiths.
Prayer as in a voluntary act by any student outside of class? Absolutely, it is their right.
Prayer as an organized event in class? No way. Aside from maybe historical classes (as a demonstration) or religious classes (as a practice), a public school should by no means promote, let alone enforce, any religion.
If I had a child and learned that he/she had mandatory prayer during classes, I would take him/her out of that school, never looking back.
I think everyone is pretty much in agreement here. I was kinda getting sick of pressing the "agree" button for everyone here. Sorry if I didn't get to you, just press the "agree" button yourself for me I guess. If anybody questions it, tell em I said it's OK!!!
That violates the constitution with separation of church and state as well as there would be the need for studying other religions. Private schools are private and public schools are public.
